Earl Bennett was charged with three counts of second-degree murder for the Oct. 27 shooting, according to a criminal complaint filed in Hennepin County on Monday.

A man has been charged after he shot and killed three people at a homeless encampment in Minneapolis in October.

A man shot by St. Paul police officers Monday night is a suspect in deadly shootings at a homeless encampment, Minneapolis police said Tuesday. Earl Bennett, 40, was in critical but stable condition at the hospital as of Tuesday morning.

Eric Bennett is charged in one Minneapolis shooting that occurred hours before he was shot, according to prosecutors.

The woman has since been identified as Samantha Jo Moss, 35, of Saint Louis Park, by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office.

Police say the man shot and injured by St. Paul police officers on Monday night was wanted in connection with two Minneapolis shootings, including the double fatal shooting Sunday at a small encampment.

According to the Minneapolis Police Department, officers responded to the report of a shooting on the 2400 block of Ferrant Place at around 1:30 a.m. There, they found a 13-year-old boy inside a home who had been shot once.
