Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections are reaching their final phase, with voting slated for. Voters will cast their ballots across 40 assembly seats. The election's last phase sees over 3.9 million people ready to vote.

The earlier phases of the Assembly election saw 61.38 per cent voter turnout in the first phase on September 18 and 57.31 per cent in the second phase on September 25.

In the final phase of Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections, 415 candidates are contesting for 40 seats today. Approximately 3.9 million voters can vote across 5,060 polling stations. This is the first assembly election after the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019.

Polling has begun in 40 Assembly segments across seven districts: Jammu, Udhampur, Samba and Kathua in the Jammu region and Baramulla, Bandipora and Kupwara in north Kashmir. Scroll down for all the latest updates.

Jammu and Kashmir will vote in the third and last phase of assembly polls today, and pick representatives for 40 of its 90 constituencies. Of the 40 constituencies, 24 come under the Jammu division and the rest are in Kashmir.

The election will witness West Pakistani refugees, the Valmiki Samaj, and the Gorkha community exercise their franchise, having gained voting rights for the first assembly polls following the 2019 abrogation of Article 370.

According to Election Commission (EC) officials, 24 of the 40 seats across seven districts are in Jammu and the remaining 16 are in the Valley.
