Hundreds of thousands of people have been evacuated from their homes as Super Typhoon Man-yi is making landfall along the eastern coast of Catanduanes, Philippines on Saturday.

Typhoon Man-yi was bringing heavy rain and powerful winds to the Philippines on Sunday, hours after making landfall in a nation still recovering from a series of recent storms that killed more than 160 people and caused widespread damage.

Man-yi was still packing maximum sustained winds of 185 kilometers per hour (115 miles per hour) after making its first landfall late Saturday on Catanduanes island.
