Three Just Stop Oil activists have denied throwing soup on two Van Gogh paintings in a revenge attack hours after other activists were jailed.The paintings, both versions of the artist’s Sunflowers, were targeted at the National Gallery on Friday shortly after two Just Stop Oil activists were jailed for pouring soup over another painting in the series by the Dutch artist in October 2022.

In October 2022, Phoebe Plummer and Anna Holland threw two cans of Heinz tomato soup over the artwork at London's National Gallery.
