Scott Morrow was also a player to watch ahead of camp, but the defenseman has missed several practices with a lower-body injury. Like Unger Sorum, it’s probably best for Morrow to play big minutes with the Wolves rather than spot play as the seventh defenseman. Ty Smith is probably the front-runner for that job.

The Carolina Hurricanes will host the Florida Panthers in NHL preseason action on Friday at the newly named Lenovo Center. The Hurricanes will give their starters some time tonight and Carolina fans will get the chance to see the full-strength lineup for this season.
