Littleton police officers shot a driver Tuesday morning after the driver got out of the car with a weapon during a traffic stop, police said.

Littleton police officers shot a suspect after they claimed he pointed a weapon at officers. It started with an attempted traffic stop at Belleview and Keenland Court in Littleton around 3 a.m. Tuesday.

A reportedly armed suspect was taken to the hospital after a Littleton officer fired their weapon. The Littleton Police Department posted on X that at around 3 a.m. Tuesday, an officer attempted to make a traffic stop of a speeding car at West Belleview Avenue and Keenland Court on the boundary between Littleton and Englewood.
