Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and his son and Cabinet Minister Nara Lokesh welcomed the Supreme Court's order on Friday for a CBI-monitored probe into alleged adulteration of Tirupati laddu.

The SIT will comprise two officers of CBI nominated by the director, two officers of the state police nominated by the state government, and one official of the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI).

The Supreme Court on Friday (4 October) constituted an independent Special Investigation Team (SIT), replacing the SIT formed by the Andhra Pradesh (AP) government to investigate the Tirupati laddus case.
