Researchers at the University of Copenhagen have identified a new drug target for weight loss that curbs appetite, boosts energy use, and enhances insulin sensitivity without causing nausea or muscle loss.

Popular anti-obesity drugs continue to show cardiovascular benefits beyond weight loss, according to several new papers published in JACC that are being simultaneously presented at the American Heart Association's 2024 Scientific Sessions.

Researchers looked at the health records of 17 million Americans with obesity and determined that between 2022 and 2023, rates of bariatric surgeries dropped by 25%, while prescriptions for weight-loss drugs more than doubled.
