Actress Eva Longoria admitted that she and her family have vacated the “dystopian” United States, leaving the homelessness and high taxes of California for a brighter life.

Desperate Housewives actress Eva Longoria has opened up about her brood's exit from the US and why they now split their time between Mexico and Spain.

"I didn't leave because of the political environment. I left because my work took me there," the actress explained, following her previous comments about leaving "this dystopian country."

Eva Longoria has said that she is privileged to be able to escape the US and split her time between Spain and Mexico following Donald Trump’s win.

Eva Longoria revealed that she moved her family from California to Spain and Mexico in response to rising issues such as homelessness and taxes, as well as political disillusionment brought on by Donald Trump's presidency.

"I’m privileged. I get to escape and go somewhere. Most Americans aren’t so lucky," the actress said of her choice to leave.

Eva Longoria has fled the US and is living in Spain and Mexico as she fears it will become a “dystopian country” under Donald Trump.

Eva Longoria said she no longer spends much time in Hollywood and doesn't miss it, especially after Trump's win. She lives mostly in Spain and Mexico.
