The 2024 Major League Baseball regular season is just about over. Sunday's slate wrapped Game 162 for 28 of 30 teams, the culmination of a six-month-long slog that ends -- for a lucky few -- with the playoffs.

Sale, at the age of 35, completely dominated the NL, winning the pitching Triple Crown, leading the league with 18 victories, a 2.38 ERA and 225 strikeouts. The only other pitchers that age to accomplish that feat are Walter Johnson (1924), Roger Clemens (1998) and Randy Johnson (2002), according to STATS Perform.

He has been even better than Shohei Ohtani has been having his own season for the ages on the other side of the country.
