The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) has completed critical track work on the Orange Line, lifting nine speed restrictions.

A service suspension last month allowed for unencumbered access to track areas, and crews were able to lift nine speed restrictions.

“That will be the first time the Orange Line is restriction free in 15 years,” MBTA General Manager Phil Eng said during an appearance at the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday.
