Officials in Unicoi County will hold a press conference on Monday at 10 a.m. to provide updates on ongoing search and rescue efforts. As of Sunday, 47 people were unaccounted for throughout the county.

With the help of countless resources from across county and state lines, first responders in Unicoi County have been able to find a majority of the 33 people who were unaccounted for the afternoon of Sept. 28, Erwin Police Chief Regan Tilson told Knox News.

Unicoi County Hospital is in Erwin, Tennessee, around 100 miles east of Knoxville and Pigeon Forge. The region saw intense flooding Friday as Tropical Storm Helene, downgraded from a hurricane, barreled through the Southeast, inflicting flooding and power outages across multiple states.
